PPI (Pixels Per Inch), often interchangeably called pixel density, measures how many individual pixels are packed into one square inch of your monitor. The higher the PPI, the sharper and more crisp your text, images, and games will look.
When you buy a larger monitor without increasing the resolution (like upgrading from a 24-inch 1080p screen to a 27-inch 1080p screen), the pixels get physically stretched out. For most desktop PC users sitting about 2 to 3 feet away from their screen, a pixel density between 90 and 110 PPI is considered the standard "good" baseline. Anything over 140 PPI is considered "retina" or incredibly sharp, while anything below 80 PPI will likely reveal visible, blocky pixels when reading text.

Dot pitch (measured in millimeters) is the exact physical distance between the center of one pixel and the center of the next. A smaller dot pitch means the pixels are closer together, resulting in a sharper image (which directly correlates to a higher PPI).
